Gravesend nightclub: 13 people hurt as car drives into club

Detectives remain at the scene of an incident in Gravesend where a number of people were injured by a car.

Kent Police was called at 11.47pm on Saturday 17 March 2018 after a Suzuki Vitara drove into Blake’s nightclub in Queen Street.

Officers attended and arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He is believed to have been asked to leave the club earlier in the evening following an altercation, and remains in custody.

Not terror-related

This is not being treated as a terror-related incident.

At least 13 people were injured but officers believe several others may have left the scene and are working to establish how many further victims there may be.

Several of those hurt suffered broken bones but none of their injuries are described as life-threatening or life-changing.
